DINO SCHOOL OXFORDSHIRE: WHO WE ARE

We are Dino School Oxfordshire, a project of the charity Child & Parenting Support Oxfordshire, and co-ordinated and run by Paula Evans, a trained Webster-Stratton Programme facilitator of many years' experience.

We adhere to the Webster-Stratton Programme, which is a set of evidence-based therapeutic learning courses, which have been developed to prevent and treat behavior problems in young children. They are proven to improve outcomes in vulnerable families and children.

Our research has found that a high-proportion of parents indicate significant positive improvement in their parenting skills, their confidence and their relationships with their children following participation in our Dino School Programme. These positive effects are indicated at the end of the Programme, and for months and years afterwards.

We look forward to extending our research to look at longer-reaching outcomes, and to include the findings of schools and other agencies.

You can read about the experience of one family before and during their attendance on one of our programmes, and then in a follow-up visit, in the case study below:-

What happens in the workshops?

The group co-ordinator and a team of three trained assistants support the children in their workshop. Meanwhile, their parents/carers work together with two more facilitators in a separate room.
